This self- guided, winding walking trail was established in
2005 by the Rio Brazos Master Naturalist and Comanche Peak
Nuclear Power Plant. Information signs will guide you
through the native flora while deer, cottontail, roadrunners
and coyote watch you make your way.
The trailhead can be found by following the main road into
the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant on Squaw Creek
Reservoir in Somervell County. Turn right at the Training
Center building, proceeding past the building to the parking
lot. Look up and to the right and you will see the steps
and the trailhead sign..
Information about the trail is on our Website, listed on
Texas Trails and the virtual trail can be viewed under the
Virtual Trails link.
If you would like more information on this beautiful, ½ mile
walking trail, please contact Maryann
Mathews, or, better yet, drop by and “dig in”. There is
always something to do at the nature trail. Be watching for
activities available for volunteer hours, and feel free to
put hours in if you are in the area.
